VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 Rastas need love Who stole the Cheese??? Yaadinfo Ep. 041: Nuff Gyal Syndrome | Pay to Pee-Pee | Cop Robs Hooker?
May 03, 2011 10:48 AM PDT
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 Tesha Miller convicted. Police man can't RISE to occasion Yaadinfo TV Pilot - Reeeemix!!!
April 13, 2011 08:33 AM PDT
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 A recap of past stories. Yaadinfo Ep. 040: Barbados Fingered in More Abuses | Dog Doo-Doo Fight | Pimping the Port
April 09, 2011 07:53 PM PDT
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 "Barbados - An island that reaches past all your stress & gets inside of you" Heeey!! Not our words...that's an actual quote from a Barbados tourism advertisement. But the latest news items sure do give that quote a WHOLE NEW perspective! We try to put a finger (c'mon, how could we let that pass?) on what may be the source of the latest Barbados PR woes. But first we've got a story of the woman who body-slammed a dog, and assaulted it's owner - all because of poop. The takeout restaurant that has cocain on the menu, and the Transport Minister's plea for locals not to pimp the newest port. Yaadinfo Ep. 039: Small Breasts, Big Con | Roaches Swarm Food Shop | Reggae Pizza
April 01, 2011 08:02 AM PDT
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 All OLINT investors will shed a little tear for this one: David Smith pleads guilty to fraud charges. Cash Plus is also in the news, as it seems Carlos Hill wasn't the only one trying to swindle us out of our money. But in this case the allegations are against a well-established, multinational company! This week we also look at British nationals who want to be Jamaican, British pizza that wants to be reggae, and a British artiste dying under strange circumstances. There's also the con job - small breasted con-artists, and stripping con-artists. Another week on the LIGHTER SIDE! Yaadinfo Ep. 038: Manatt Powder?? | Red Fire Rum | Kartel via Satellite
March 24, 2011 07:33 AM PDT
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 Dem a sprinkle di oil an' powda!! Spin yu roll and enjoy another week of the Yaadinfo Podcast as we look at new twist to the Manatt saga - mysterious envelopes sent to participating attorneys. Also this week, PM Bruce Golding takes the stand, and commissioner Emil George takes a stand for his "missing" gavel. Mmmmmm, let's see what else was in the news... Here's a good one: "Visa, Shmisa!!" Vybz Kartel will perform for a Miami audience -- get this -- via satellite. And Red Stripe enters the Rum market, albeit inauspiciously - early reviews ARE NOT GOOD! Don't worry though, the podcast is ALWAYS good! :} Yaadinfo Ep. 037: Raga, BCJ Mix-up | "Porn Again" Christians | Cake Soap Profits Soar
March 16, 2011 11:28 AM PDT
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 Ragga-ragga-ragga-ragga...so goes the song by an entertainer named for a "scandal" bag, and oh what a scandal we have on our hands this week! Popular daytime show host, Kingsley "Ragashanti" Stewart, was kicked off the airwaves yet again by the broadcasting commission. Just prosecution, or unfair persecution??? We delve into the mix-up! But there's a lot more wacky news to cover: gangsters nabbed in church, cake soap profits on the rise, Christian couples enjoying porn, and Everald "Warrington" Warmington. It's podcast time! Yaadinfo Ep. 036: Pastor Caught with Weed | Addi di Lecturer | West Indies Bowled!
March 12, 2011 04:15 AM PST
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 In the first segment of the podcast we interview Kenute Hare - Director of the Road Safety Unit in the Ministry of Transport and Works. This interview follows up on last week's story about the current ban on importation of used tyres, and the push by some stakeholders to have that ban lifted. After the serious stuff, we look at the Trinidadian pastor who wants more than just the Holy Spirit, discuss the benefits of stoning the west Indies team (maybe a good suggestion), take a quick visit to the Manatt circus, and drink some Vybz Rum at the Kartel lecture at the University of the West Indies. Yaadinfo Ep. 035: Follow Di Bokkle | Bomb Threat a Hoax | Day of Rage???
March 02, 2011 12:03 PM PST
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 Dandy shandy!! Cock-up is a TEN!! Bounty and Kartel show their skills at "sighting" bottles and sprinting, at St. Mary stage show. If Kartel could get a visa to England, we'd probably send him to the London olympics. Maybe we should start "bokkling" the politicians - a student has started a campaign in the media calling for a Jamaican revolution akin to what has taken place in Egypt and Tunisia. No doubt Bruce Golding will try to wiggle his way out of that just like he's trying to wiggle his way out of testifying at the Manatt Commission of Enquiry. More Manatt, more Finsac and a little Scratch Perry, all on this week's podcast. Yaadinfo Ep. 034: Flour price up | Buju locked up | Business Owners F’ed up!
February 23, 2011 06:06 PM PST
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 Many things can get you locked up - this week's podcast looks at a host of Jamaicans in lock up for a host of reasons. From credit card fraud to conspiracy to traffic in cocaine, we seem to be clamouring to get BEHIND the prison bars. You'd think that after 400 years of bondage we'd relish every last second of our freedom. But hey, some people say we should be locked up...in an insane asylum! The podcasts are THAT crazy!!!! Yaadinfo Ep. 033: Manatt Enquiry or Circus? | CIA Agent Phillips?? | Cass-cass in Parliament
February 16, 2011 05:18 PM PST
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 Gather round good people of Jamaica!!! It's just $40 Million to enter the Big Top where you'll be treated to the most hilarious performers on show at this here circus. K. D. the Jester, Phipps the provocateur, and the bumbling, fumbling Emil. Other sideshows include illiterate JUTC drivers, an informant with shady information, and a tracing match in the House of Parliament. Yes folks, the circus has come to town!! Yaadinfo Ep. 032: Pick Some Plums, Lose Your Gun | Golding, Lightbourne Lies?? | Cops Unfriend Facebook
February 10, 2011 06:14 AM PST
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 Aye-ya-yi!!! Last week when we asked Johnny who he thought was the dumbest criminal he said Rev. Al. This week, the good Rev. decided to prove Johnny right...SIGH...the man loves his plums it seems. Also ripe for the picking, are some of the juicy tidbits coming from the Manatt Commission of Enquiry. Other news items in the spotlight this week: Police try to catch Satan (but first they need to sign out of Facebook), man arrested on toilet, a rasta national hero, and a rastamouse. Yaadinfo Ep. 031: Don is Don, Donovan a Donovan | Thugs Play with Each Other's Pistols | Wining & Fining in Trinidad
February 03, 2011 04:16 AM PST
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 Go to JAIL, go directly to JAIL - do NOT pass GO, do not collect $200, go directly to JAIL! Well that's what's gonna happen if you try to smuggle drugs into (of all places) Jail!! Seriously?? Can anyone say "shoe-in for dumbest criminal of the year award"? And while for years, Jamaican thugs have tried to prove that they are Dons not Donovans, as well as bad men not "men", this week we found "Pepsi" trying to prove that he is just Donovan and three bad "men" caught in the act. If you don't get it, ah cyaan help yu! Check out the podcast. Atlanta, here we come!
February 03, 2011 04:12 AM PST
January 26, 2011 05:38 PM PST
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 Drama unfolds in the Manatt Commission of Enquiry, as attorney Harold Brady refuses to testify. But his punishment may be a measly J$500!! Yet another reason to question the purpose of the enquiry, and the cost to the Jamaican taxpayer - we spend J$40 Million, we earn 500 bucks! Also in the news: Police take in one of Jamaica's Most Wanted....ALIVE!!! "Dog Paw" is captured in a massive operation by the security forces, but the cops have yet to capture the kleptomaniacs behind missing paintings on loan to Government agencies. Oh well, you can win 'em all. Yaadinfo Ep. 029: Cake soap | Cash Plus | Crash Plus
January 20, 2011 08:06 AM PST
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 This week we're supposed to be covering CASH PLUS, CRASH PLUS and maybe even a CRASH BUS. But something tells me we're gonna spend most of the podcast debating CAKE SOAP and its "benefits". Cash plus liquidators were liquidated, Captain Burrell's helicopter crashed into a coconut tree, military gear made in China, and football in Vietnam will probably take second place to "Addi di Bleacha". Air C in di car, Air C in di studio, podcast time!!! Yaadinfo Ep. 028: LNG Project full of Gas | Man Steals Identity, then Reports it Stolen | Honduran Cruise Ship or Fishing Boat??
January 13, 2011 12:53 PM PST
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 When a vessel comes into your waters with hundreds of people on board, you usually direct them to the craft market, NOT shoot them up! But I guess Hondurans never quite figured the answer to the question: "How many fishermen does it take to pillage a neighbour?" And speaking of ventures gone awry, did you hear the one about why the LNG project smelled funny? It was full of gas!! Whoaaaa Nelly!!! We're on a roll here!!! Ok, ok, so we'll stick to our day jobs, but somebody please put this idiot out of his misery - the guy steals someone's identity and then calls the cops to report it stolen!! Unfortunately we can't report all these bank fees we're charged by the second as stolen property, but Jamaicans continue to be swindled by two-armed bandits in fancy suits. New year, same ol' drama!! The Best of Yaadinfo 2010 - Christmas Special
December 16, 2010 10:12 AM PST
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 Merry Christmas Yaadies! Yaadinfo Ep. 027: Shahine in Limbo | Jamaican Christmas in London | The Grinch steals Christmas parties
December 16, 2010 09:52 AM PST
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 In the news this week, Shahine Robinson's Jamaican citizenship is called into question by her challenger in the St. Ann by-election. So it seems Ms. Robinson is a citizen of the nation of Limbo. Then in what must be a shoe-in for the most ironic headline ever written, the news media report that taxi & bus operators are complaining about road accidents. Twin sisters charged for pimping out a female teenager, isn't what we typically see in the news but that's what we saw this week, and soon we'll be seeing Oral Tracey on Sting - hold the bottles, please. Reports suggest that education continues to decline, and principals and teachers are scrambling to lay the blame elsewhere. Finances must be declining too if last week the Finance Miniister raised taxes on alcohol, and this week he is banning Christmas parties. Finally, recession or no recession, barrels are still rolling into Jamaica, and while we import more barrels, we're exporting a Jamaican Christmas to London. Yaadinfo Ep. 026: Vaz Vanquished | Guinness Leads to Long Life! | Jamaica - No Problem, Mon Ami
December 09, 2010 07:17 PM PST
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 Another interesting week in Jamaican news, as the favourite for the JLP General-Secretary position, Daryl Vaz, is beaten by the "young Turk", Aundre Franklin. A policeman is caught amongst a crew that robbed a bar, but we theorise he was only trying to fill a gap, as rum sales have been halted temporarily by some manufacturers. While not in Jamaica, the story of the Chile miners has captivated us all, but we're wondering if this movie they're planning will be just as captivating. And after our attention shifts to a cash-sniffing dog in Philadelphia, and the wonderful 107-year-old Jamaican woman in Washington, we hold a lengthy debate about the French band that have christened themselves, Jamaica. Yaadinfo Ep. 025: Deodorant Thief gets 3 Years in Jail | Taxing the Rum | $40 Million Manatt Enquiry
December 04, 2010 12:39 PM PST
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 In the land of Jamaica, stealing millions is called embezzlement and gets you a 6-month sentence, but stealing a roll-on, that's three years in the toughest prison on the island! Corporate Jamaica will say they don't like the things you sing or DJ, then turn around and spend millions on you anyway. And a football coach will complain he has no strikers, while everyone on his team is striking. Only in the land of Jamaica, can you have numerous enquiries that have provided no results, but still spend $40 million on a new enquiry anyway, an information minister complaining and threatening to sue over....uhhh...information, and taxes on liquor right before Christmas - thanks to a grinch called ______ (fill in the blanks). Yaadinfo Ep. 024: Duppy Haunts Boy | Madness at Bellevue | Ghost of Trafigura Lingers
November 24, 2010 09:01 PM PST
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 Rolling calf, "marmaid", the White Witch of Rosehall, they all must be gathered up under a cotton tree having a good laugh at this week in Jamaican news! It all started when one of our national television stations chose to carry a story about a boy who was being 'haunted' by his dead friend, and ended with the National Security Minister asking for an investigation into funeral homes. Somewhere in between, the Trafigura ghost returned to haunt the PNP, and a duppy took the life of a suspected murderer - now that would really be poetic justice! In Parliament, our representatives lambasted the madness that was taking place at Bellevue Hospital...by the staff, NOT the patients! Crazy motorists continued to use a very dangerous roadway, and a cop got chewed out, very literally, by a mad (nuff pun intended) taxi passenger. This Thanksgiving, we are thankful for all the crazy people in Jamaica that make our job producing the podcast a very easy one. Yaadinfo Ep. 023: Bar patrons beat would-be robbers | Mayor gets by with three secretaries | Hospital patients complain about jerk-pan smoke!
November 18, 2010 09:39 AM PST
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 Stop me if you've heard this one. Three robbers walk into a bar... Well they walked in but had to scamper out, as the patrons didn't take too kindly to having their drinks disturbed. One of them got a sound beating too! But is it also robbery when a loan agency breaks into someone's home to recover collateral for monies owed?? You be the judge. Now what would the podcast be without some political shenanigans? One mayor, three secretaries, a whole heap a bangarang! PNP councillor in Portland complains about the mayor's "use" of three secretaries, we just try to figure out his motives. What we can't figure out however, is how on earth a funeral home sent the wrong man's body to a funeral, or better yet, how that funeral ended with police chasing a ganja smoking man through the church! Then Andrew goes ballistic when he hears people are complaining about jerk chicken/pork smoke. What's that you say? They're patients in a hospital?? Well some good ol' jerk pork might be the best medicine! Only on the lighter side... Yaadinfo Ep. 022: Fisherman Robs Homeless Man | Juror Takes a Lunch Break | UK Jailbirds Head to Jamaica??
November 11, 2010 05:26 AM PST
VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 This week we've got more stories than JLP excuses about Manatt, Phelps & Phillips! Ok, here goes: Bob Marley's daughter charged with biting six-year-old, Jamaican MPs refuse to use public bus system, Lester Crooks accused of being...uhh...a crook, Gov't MP unplugs microphone in Parliament while opposition member is speaking, fisherman nets stolen goods from - get this - a homeless man, juror has lunch and doesn't bother to return to court, and UK man jailed for stealing $5 million...in $20 COINS!!! Yep! We're Baaaaaaack!!!! Yaadinfo Ep. 020: Manatt Commission of Enquiry | Bulb Blow! Kern May Go Free | Bruce's Green Card Dilemma
October 14, 2010 04:30 PM PDT
OUR SPONSORS: Business & Casuals - Buyandwalk.com VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 Another year, another commission of enquiry - the PM promises that there will be an enquiry into the Manatt saga, nation yawns and goes back to sleep. In the courts however, anticipation builds as we await the outcome of the Kern Spencer/Cuban Light Bulb trial - defence lawyers see a light at the end of the tunnel. Also this week: a US-based media outlet accuses the PM of being a Green Card holder, Vybz Kartel is alleged to have inked an anti-gay-bashing deal, and chicken prices set to fly away! Yaadinfo Ep. 019: Sex, Lies & Affidavits
October 06, 2010 08:02 PM PDT
OUR SPONSORS: Business & Casuals - Buyandwalk.com VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 SEX: Music, Media & Adolescent Sexuality in Jamaica. Author Marcia Forbes joins us on the podcast to share some insights on media and it's effects on our youths' libidos. Smells like teen spirit. LIES: Was this one fired? Has that one told us the truth about Manatt, Phelps & Phillips? Was this one told to hide gov't involvement with Manatt? We try to determine the truth(s) - in light of this new AFFIDAVIT, the gov't seems to be sinking, and "dem Haffi Save It!". Yaadinfo Ep. 018: Wata come een a mi room! | Facebook leads to Love, Heartbreak | Queen robbing the Poor??
September 30, 2010 04:35 AM PDT
OUR SPONSORS: Business & Casuals - Buyandwalk.com VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 Water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink! Tropical Storm Nicole forms over the island, and wreaks havoc on our roads and infrastructure. Lightning and thunda!!! But before the rain started, there was a flood of crazy stories ranging from Transport Authority officers allegedly ramming taxis with their vehicles, old politicians being asked to step aside, and the Queen of England attempting to use aid money for poverty to heat her castle. We'll try to keep it light on this roller-coaster week. Yaadinfo Ep. 017: Bounty Swings the Hammer | Gov't Committee Nailed | Road Agency Drilled
September 23, 2010 01:55 PM PDT
OUR SPONSORS: Business & Casuals - Buyandwalk.com VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 While Bounty was HAMMERING, Derrick Kellier was DRILLING the Constituency Development Fund. Christopher Tufton SAW red, and the Auditor General NAILED home her point on the Road Management Fund. All this was happening while the PNP's Ian Hayles was SHOVELLING it in the Appeals Court, and the Tivoli residents were RAKING in compensation for damages incurred during the Tivoli invasion. Yaadinfo Ep. 016: Usain Bolt is Juiced! | Buju gets Juiced! | More Juicy Scandals in the JLP
September 15, 2010 07:45 PM PDT
OUR SPONSORS: Business & Casuals - Buyandwalk.com VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 Usain Bolt gets his own flavour sport drink - Gatorade Bolt Lemon Ice - as he travels to the land down under, but Buju Banton must be under the weather after being 'squeezed' by his two co-defendants. In other stories, Harold Brady seems to be causing nothing but problems for the JLP, as is (former) MP Shahine Robinson who has AGAIN lost her seat, and is now in the hot seat. As the problems pile up for the government, we get some sex - stories of sex that is, and large members. Only on the lighter side of the news. Yaadinfo Ep. 015: The Case of the Patty Bandits | Cops & Government in Shootout | Nurses Get Their Money
September 09, 2010 03:22 PM PDT
OUR SPONSORS: Business & Casuals - Buyandwalk.com VOICEMAIL: 206 222 2496 When is a hostage situation not a hostage situation?? When patties are at stake. The entire nation waited anxiously as police surrounded a Juici Patties outlet in downtown Kingston for hours, only to find out the criminals had already escaped with their baked goodies. In other stories, nurses get long-awaited compensation as OLINT investors hope to get some compensation, and we peek into the mind of a most-wanted criminal, while government comes under fire from the police. We also had to examine the case of the Florida pastor planning to burn Qu'rans. Yaadinfo Ep. 014: Forget Gunmen, Arrest Windshield Wipers | Five Rounds, Two Girlfriends | Nesta Carter on Fire, Cricket UNDER Fire!
September 02, 2010 06:39 AM PDT
OUR SPONSORS: Business & Casuals - Buyandwalk.com VOICEMAIL: 206 333 1769 On the not-so-lighter side, this week we take a look at the case of a policeman killed in an alleged shootout with other cops. We also contemplate the wisdom of arresting windshield wipers, with so many forms of crime rampant on our streets. The case of a man being disturbed from his bed while sleeping with his two pregnant girlfriends raises some eyebrows, and Nesta Carter's recent sprinting performances, as well as allegations of cheating against the Pakistan cricket team, are raising a few more eyebrows. Never a dull moment in Jamaica, Land We Love!" Yaadinfo Ep. 013: Ganja, Ganja Everywhere! | Yendi, the Pageant Queen | Colin Campbell Returns...then Leaves Again
August 26, 2010 01:49 PM PDT
OUR SPONSORS: Business & Casuals - Buyandwalk.com VOICEMAIL: 206 333 1769 It's Beauty and the Beasts on this week's podcast! But this is no fairy tale, Yaadies - more like a horror story. The government is haunted by the Manatt, Phelps & Phillips debacle, and the ghost of Trafigura just won't leave Colin Campbell. Then we move from spirits, to high spirits, as ganja stories abound in the news. I think this week we'll call it, "The HIGHER side of Jamaican news!" Yaadinfo Ep. 012: Warmington's Mental Case | The Dead Still Collecting Pension | Rastaman Forced to Trim Locks
August 19, 2010 06:31 PM PDT
OUR SPONSORS: Business & Casuals - Buyandwalk.com VOICEMAIL: 206 333 1769 On this week's podcast we seem to have a lot of HEAD CASES!! A rastaman has to shave his head, the NHF lost its head, Warmington accused Greg Christie of being a head case and Butch Stewart gives the tourism minister a headache. This is the lighter side of Jamaican news. Yaadinfo Ep. 011: Condoms with Teeth | Transvestite Drug Dealer | Student Loan Scandal
August 12, 2010 12:09 PM PDT
OUR SPONSORS: Business & Casuals - Buyandwalk.com VOICEMAIL: 206 333 1769 The police sergeant implicated in the shooting of Ian 'Ching Sing' Lloyd has finally been granted bail, but only after the DPP recommends that he be charged with murder. Departmental action has also been recommended against the constable seen beating Ching Sing, but Johnny asks, "What about the murdered woman in all this??" We also look at the latest release from the OCG revealing 100% compliance from ALL public bodies for a 6th straight quarter, then quickly shift to the sporting world where Bolt played number 2 to Gay. Next??? Condoms with teeth, 'Macho' the transvestite drug dealer, and head of the student loan bureau NOT paying HER loans - oh the irony!! But hey, it is the lighter side of Jamaican news. A new political party is also on the horizon, and we question the motives for obtaining and storing fingerprints of the recent detainees under the state of emergency. Doctors practicing without licences, drive-by car breaking down, Dudus lawyer troubles - we cover them all this week, on the lighter side of Jamaican news.
